Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the NoteBound iOS app. By creating an account or using NoteBound, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

NoteBound is operated by Chreia Labs, LLC (“NoteBound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. The service

NoteBound is a notes app. You can create an account, write and organize notes, optionally share notes or selected blocks with other NoteBound users, and purchase NoteBound Plus for additional limits and features.

Note attachments are currently stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. Profile photos, if you add one, are uploaded to cloud storage.

3. Accounts

You may create an account with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

You must be at least 13 years old to use NoteBound. We do not knowingly provide the service to children under 13.

You can delete your account in the app from Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your cloud account and associated cloud data. It does not cancel an Apple subscription. See Section 5.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the notes and other content you create in NoteBound. You grant us a limited license to host, sync, display, and otherwise process that content solely to operate NoteBound for you, including sharing it with people you choose.

You are responsible for the content you create and share. Do not use NoteBound to store or share content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use.

If you share a note, recipients can see the content you shared. If you grant edit access, they can change that content.

5. NoteBound Plus

NoteBound Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription offered through Apple In-App Purchase:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

Deleting your NoteBound account does not cancel Plus. Cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse NoteBound, including by attempting to access other users’ accounts or unshared content, interfering with the service, or using it in a way that violates applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

7. Availability

We provide NoteBound as-is. Features, limits, and availability may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not responsible for content stored only on your device if the app is uninstalled or the device is lost.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoteBound and Chreia Labs, LLC disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost notes, profits, or data, arising from your use of NoteBound.

Our total liability for any claim relating to NoteBound will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for NoteBound Plus in the twelve months before the claim or (b) twenty-five U.S. dollars ($25). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of NoteBound after the updated Terms are posted at https://notebound.us/terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
